The Peach (Prunus persica) is a native tree of Asian countries. Japan is well known for its proliferation of blossom trees throughout the country. The sweet and juicy fruit is widely eaten around the World. The peach has a slightly furry skin, but it is also is cultivated with a smooth skin ~ when it is called a nectarine.
